ako rin may finale kaso FINALE 2000. hindi pa rin ako gaano kagaling sa pag-eencode ng mga kanta. may mga mali pa ako. sa ngayon, kahanga-hanga ng hangad ang pinagtatrabahuhan ko. pwede po ba ishare din sa akin yung ilang files nyo? thanks po. :)

Thanks nga pala kay Koenji ;) Try ko pa rin hanap ng Finale program ninyo kasi gusto ko rin -share yung ibang encoded music files ko. Kaso konti pa lang yung mga vocal arrangement ko dito eh. Pwede din po ba makishare ng finale files ninyo? Meron rin akong mga choral arrangments, halo-halo nga lang at noteworthy files pa lang. Several of Cayabyab's and few MADZ. Simulan ko na tuloy pag-aralan yung Finale notepad ;) ;) :)

Kailangan lang ay malinaw yung pyesa na i-scan mo.

Hardware na ang kailangan mo dun at MIDI Cable, then ang i-install mo na MIDI output mo yung model ng keyboard mo.

Or better yet, kung may disk drive yung keyboard, i-save mo sa MIDI file using the appropriate keyboard type as output. Tapos upload mo sa keyboard. PRESTO.

Heeding the advise of our respected posters, I downloaded and tried Finale Notepad 2003. Really good, except that when I got the hang of it, bitin and I felt I had to get the Professional Version.

Pero grabe, Finale 2003 pala costs $600, $300 if you can show proof of being with the academe, or music ministry of a particular church.

Baka may i-upload ako mamaya na ginawa ko from memory na Paghahandog ng Sarili. Di ko alam kung sinong nag-compose eh. Basta tanda ko lang we sang it before nung nanjan pa 'ko. If you guys have a chance to listen to it, paki-PM/e-mail/IM na lang sa'kin kung alam nyo kung kanino yun. TY. Nagawan ko rin yung "Umawit Kayo" ng Hangad pero minus the bridge section. Isasama ko na rin. Disclaimer lang, lahat yun gawa ng isang very very very basic ang musical background--ako'y hamak na gitarista lamang--kaya pasensya na kung may mga mali or inconsistencies.

Ask ko lang kung may lyrics ka ba ng Paghahandog ng Sarili V2? Medyo hindi ko kase magets yung bagong tono kung kabit sa old lyrics. na-encode mo na ba yung finale score nun? ang nadownload ko pa lang yung midi.

Di ko rin alam ang composer nun. Yung pari kase meron ding bagong version nun, pero iba ang tono.

ha? parang ang labo ata nun. When it pops up, dapat may window asking you kung sa'ng folder mo sya i-download. Or if all else fails, just choose "Open from current location" para buksan na sya ng Finale. Then just save from the program itself.

As usual dala ulit ako ng copya "for circulation" sa inyong lahat. Pila-pila na lang kayo sa hiraman.

Niks, hindi ko pa alam lahat ng features pero sa pagkakalikot ko:

1. Improved scan score lite. Pwede nang mag-scan direct from finale ng scores. Sa 2004, pupunta ka pa sa ibang software for scanning tapos balik sa finale para ma-encode.

2. Mas mabilis siya ngayon at parang mas stable. At least sa system ko.

3. Finale performance assessment. Sabayan mo yung pyesa tapos i-rerate ka nya.

Special request naman mga kapatid. I d/l'd the Unang Alay finale file from our briefcase. Ok ung kantang yun ah. Pero syempre, having heard only from that file, pag sumipa na yung SATB, di ko na alam which section sings the melody. Kung meron senyo na may isolated melody score or pedeng sabihin lang from measure ___ to measure __, (insert voice section here) yung melody para mapag-aralan din namin dito. TY. Actually kung may mp3...hehehehe.

Pede isa pang request? Kung meron naman senyo may time na maglagay ng lyrics dun sa mga Finale file natin na pure score lang. Malaking tulong kasi lalo sa mga tulad ko na di pa naririnig yung mga kanta. For example, yung mga Cayabyab songs, they sound really good at gusto ko sya matutunan. pero di ko alam kung sa'n yung pasok ng lyrics at kung ano yung lyrics...TY uli.

Merong midi player para sa pda and pangalan GSPlayer for MIDI. (Pocket PC version yung gingagamit ko hindi ko alam kung meron nito for PalmOS or Symbian.)

Best of all, its free. Yun nga lang player lang ito hindi transcription software.

Suggestion ko kung may paraan ma-translate yung Finale scores into PDF, meron na ring Adobe Reader for all PDA operating systems. As a matter of fact, yung Days with the Lord songbook in this format meron sa PDA at cel ko na dala ko parati.

meron din akong Sibelius, (version 3 lang... nahhirapan akong maghanap ng version 4) and, IMO, parang mas efficient yung navigating and.. well... overall interface nya compared to Finale.. Mas maganda rin maglayout with Sibelius.. then again, Finale 2005 lang meron sakin so I wouldn't know about 2006 version..

and as it is, Sibelius can open FINALE .mus files.
sayang d pwede mag save as .mus.

meron sana akong mga encoded na mga songs by the st. louis jesuits.

Pwede bang i-save as .MID file, if yes, you just have to segregate sections into channels so you can IMPORT it to FINALE and save it as .MUS file.

i needed to type all the lyrics again after i imported the midi from sibelius.
nainis ako sa interface ng Finale 2005... parang.. ang senseless ng setup.
images nalang i-upoad ko next time. d naman siguro sobrang kelangan na pwedeng maeedit ung scores.

anyway. available nasa breifcase yung score ng "One Bread, One Body" by John Foley, SJ, na SATB with solo/descant... pero kailangan pa ata to ng editing. d talaga ako marunong gumamit ng Finale. pakiedit nalang, whoever knows how.. sorry talaga.

*pakitanggal ng first three beats before "One bread, one body".
tapos pakilagay nalang ng repeat cues sa "Gentile or Jew", parts.. and pakitanggal din ng last beat after the 3 beats on the last measure.

Pwede bang mai-convert na midi file ang nasa score ng Finale? Kasi sa Noteworthy at sa MIDINotate Composer pwede. Kapag gusto kong gumawa ng midi file, sa MIDINotate ako gawa. Hindi ko kasi alam gamitin Finale, at 2006 ang version ng Finale notepad ko.

Advice to all the people who have problems retaining "formatting" with ANY notation software.

What you should do after you finish notating something is to export it to a PDF file, that way it retains EVERYTHING, from fonts, to layout. And it's not as size-heavy as using images.

Only drawback is you have to make sure that it's already perfect and will not have to be edited further :) But as Pharan said, "d naman siguro sobrang kelangan na pwedeng maeedit ung scores."

Anyway, I just got my copy of Sibelius 4. It's worlds better than 3.1 pero kaso lang, hindi pa rin pwedeng mag export into PDF format.. export as graphic lang talaga(i.e. JPG, BMP, TIFF, EPS, EMF)

naisip ko na flexible naman yung EPS format. vector graphics format kasi yun(pwedeng buksan sa Adobe Illustrator o CorelDraw in its original form). naeembed din yung fonts.

meron kaya kayong mga programs na compatible nitong format?

If the MIDI was written (encoded) from FINALE na hindi pinaghiwalay ang sections... MIDI would really be like that if you try to export it back from MIDI to FINALE... Medyo mahirap yatang gawin base sa alam ko.... baka somebody else have an idea...

Mayommee, try this.

When you open the midi file, click the button highlighting Channels Become Staves. Nagkakadikit kasi ang mga notes when they are read using a single track. Now if you they appeared in the same trac pa rin, try exploding them. that way you'll have single line entries. It'll be easier to edit voices that way.

Exploding Music in Finale means you can divide a chordal or polyphonic passage into individual monophonic staves.

For example, when parts are written on a single staff as triads, Finale can explode that one staff into individual voice staves, each with a single line part.

This is the opposite naman of the Implode function of Finale, where you can create an additional staff that combines the voices that you've selected.

Try this Alex,

You can use Finale to prepare Standard MIDI Files (SMFs) for rehearsal playback. Finale and Sibelius let you save files in SMF format in the same way:


from the File menu, choose Save As
select MIDI File from the drop-down Format menu of the Save dialog box. The file extension .mid will automatically be appended to the file name you typed.
If prompted, choose Type 1 (all instruments saved to separate tracks) rather than Type 0 (all instruments saved into a single track).

Did you guys know that Finale can make use of soundfonts (even if you do not have a soundcard like Creative Audigy which can support them)? I have a nice GM soundfont here which can make your Finale instruments sound far better than the usual. I got it from a friend. Kaso, I cannot just post it in the e-groups. Masyado siyang malaki (around 30 MB). If you are interested, contact me via Yahoo Messanger so I can transfer the file in your computer.

Yes, Finale 2007 Note Pad, by Finale (http://www.finalemusic.com/notepad/default.aspx) it has basic functionality and allowed me to chart songs for the choir that I play in. I used it for 2 weeks. You can also play back Finale files from any MIDI sound source connected to (or loaded on) your computer. Notes can be input in a variety of ways take a look:

*By playing them from a MIDI keyboard in real time (to either a metr onome (http://www.metronomeonline.com/ ) beat or to a beat created by the user by tapping on a key or the foot pedal).

*With a hybrid method (Speedy Entry via the MIDI keyboard) in which the duration is selected at the computer keyboard but the notes are input from the MIDI keyboard.

*Easy to use

*it does the job I need to do with a reasonable learning curve.

Hi Good day Arjay! Hooray… ang galing naman po. Actually it was combination of Sibelius and Finale.

In my humble opinion it’s always Sibelius VS Finale. I have been using Finale for years, starting with 2002 and upgrading every year. I use Finale, and I find it easier to use than Sibelius. However, the printed music in Sibelius looks much more professional than Finale, though I prefer Finale in most other aspects.

Finale and Sibelius both have all the functions you could wish for. I use PrintMusic, has a Finale engine I guess is what you would call it. I too learned without the aid of a manual, but I check on-line every now and again, to see if there is some easier way to do something. Finale has lots of goodies built right in. When it comes about saving files; finale lets you save in the finale .mus format, .mid format, .wav format, and even .mp3 format. For me it always depends on your needs or the preferences for what kind of composing software you’re going to use? If your needs are basic then why not go for the many 'freeware' packages out there?

Nag try po kasi akong mag scan ng piyesa at tri-nay ko pong i convert into score, ibang score ang lumalabas, kung i upgrade ko po kaya ang Smartscore ko sa Pro Edition, mapapakinabangan ko po kaya ito? If you are referring to the e-groups. It is by invitation based on your status sa board. Currently the REQUEST FOR MEMBERSHIP TO BPONLINERS e-groups (http://www.bukaspalad.com/board/showthread.php?t=1151&highlight=bponliners+e-groups) THREAD has been locked because it is not doing good to this board. People just tend to post for the sake of reaching the "regular" status to get invited. As I said before, it is by invitation so it tends to be more of a privilege being "regular". Ang alam ko me 2 or 3 option para makakuha ka ng authoirization code ng Finale 2007, pwede sa mismong site nila or by phone or mail, pag by mail or phone ata ang na i select mo, automatic na lumalabas na ang authorization code nya, basta wag mo lang i select yong online registration para di ka mahirapan.

Alam ko kasi ang authorization code ng Finale e naka base sa CPU settings mo, kaya ganon. So select mo lang register by mail or phone, either of the 2, lalabas yong authorization code na hinahanap mo. pm mo ko kung gusto mong i assist, tulungan kita kung mga problema ka pang ma encounter. Di pa ako gumagamit ng 2007 e. 2005 pa lang ang version ko. Yung 2006 ko naman ay Finale Notepad lang na free download at merong authorization code na i-email sa iyo once you register it (libre din yun)

melalabas na box na tulad ng sa baba, clik mo lang ang pagkasunodsunod nong naka circle from 1 to 6 kung ang SATB ay wala pa sa taas.


Kung naka separete na ang SATB at naron na sa taas, di mo na kaialangan ang step 1 to 3, you start to step 4 (select the voice you want to create a separate track) den clik mo yong 5 and 6 prompt for each name at open extracted files , then pag ok mo yong number 6, lalabas yong filename nya mag assign ka lang ng filename, example e awit ng paghahangad-sop.mus para alam mong soprano yon, den mag si save na yan, then lalabas na yong soprano part.

I think kuya bonnie is using Finale2007 version, di ba kuya bonnie? Pero as far as i know madali lang magextract if ever na di pareho yung prompt na nagaappear sayo you can use the help menu then nandun yung step by step procedure sa pagetract ng sections sa scores. ang alam ko, manual editing lang ang pwede sa finale versions older than 2007. primarily, sa file pa lang, kelangan nakaseparate na ng staves ang bawat voices then manual edit na lang. select and delete yung staves na di mo kelangan. madali lang dapat to. pero kung magkakasama sa staff ang sop+alto and ten+bass, yan ang madugo, hehe...all i can say is good luck fanny...

madugo nga yan fanny kung sa pagtranscribe sa SATB eh hindi ginawang layered, pinagsama sama sa iisang staff... "mano mano po!" yan ang the best na paraan para maihiwalay mo into 4 staves... pero kung naitranscribe na hiwahiwalay, madali lang yan... click File> extract parts > then choose which staves you want to extract (in your case na gusto mo accompaniment lang, so i-select mo lang yung staff kung saan naka assign yung accompanment) good luck din po...

I have found a way to save finale files on unregistered copy of finale that is way past its trial period. You just have to close the file, and once it asked if you need to save your scoresheet, just answer yes. This will save the score sheet.

To print finale scoresheets, simply just use the finale notepad.

I hope this tactic will help those who want to create scoresheets using finale!!!:)

2) Click the Instrument List then a box will appear
3) Select the staff where you want to change your Instrument and click the Instrument bardown menu
4) Select --->>>> New Instrument
5) An Instrument Definition pop up box will appear again and from there click GENERAL MIDI popup bar to select what kind of instrument you like to use...

Actually po, I am using finale notepad as of the moment coz I had problems installing finale 2007 software. It says it requires at least 256Mb, I checked both my HD and RAM, i have 9gb and 256Mb, respectively.

Honestly, I have so many questions right now. I think they're easy questions. I haven't really explored the notepad. For example, The score I am encoding has 6 measures on the hard copy, but in the notepad, if I'm not mistaken, it has like 7 or 8 measures per line (am i explaining this clearly? sorry, if I'm not). I tried to delete the measure but nothing happened, it just reduced the number of measures of the whole piece, not really removing the measure at that line.

And so many more... Sorry...

Maybe because kahit 256 mb ang memory mo e nakashare naman ang video card mo from your ram, it means na built in sa board ang video card mo at kumukuha lang ng part ng RAM memory ng computer mo which is 256mb kaya kung built in ang video card mo at me naka allocate na 32mb or 64 mb from your 256 mb RAM memory, definetly di ka makakapag install ng finale 2007 kasi nabawasan na ang physical memory ng pc mo....I suggest u try to add more RAM memory sa pc mo or bumili ka ng Video card para di na maki share ang video mo sa RAM memory ng pc mo....


Yong problem mo sa pag gamit ng finale e isa isahin natin ang problema, me solution yan....
