Why don't you try the tinapay ng buhay songs, it's complete...from entrance to final songs....yung choir namin yung ang kinakanta.. :)

And since madali na rin naman silang turuan, pwede ring mag-introduce ng new songs a few weeks before it can be sung.
Para naman dun sa Children's choir, I usually choose the common songs na madaling kantahin at hindi masyado mataas para hindi mahirapan yung mga bata. If applicable, I also choose yung medyo fast/upbeat songs kasi hindi pa magaling sa breathing pag bata pa.
:) Pero the general guideline I use is there.

:-\ like for example, ako 2 weeks before kami kumanta meron na kami lineup para ma-practice or review. i.e.
entrance - Bayan, Magsiawit Na!
Salmo - Kahanga-hanga
Gospel Accl. - Aleluya (TNB)
Presentation - wala ng procession eh
Sanctus - Misa Collection or Himig Heswita
Memorial Accl. - We Remember
Doxology - Dakilang Amen
Pater Noster and Doxology - Ama Namin/Sapagkat
Agnus Dei - Kordero ng Diyos (Cayabyab)
Communion - One Thing I Ask/Anima Christi, Gabii
Final - I Will Sing Forever.
sige, gawa kayo hah. ;)
thanks

[Off-topic]
Jojit, question lang. Meron ka bang chords ng Bayan, Magsiawit Na!, at lyrics with chords ng We Remember at Kordero ng Diyos ni Ka Ryan Cayabyab (or scores nila)? Baka meron ka, pahingi naman. Thanks. ;D
[/off-topic]

hi hashpipe, just PM your fax number and am going to fax them to you. kung gusto mo choirds lang, pwede din. :)
jojo, kaya nga po ask ko kayo to post your lineup so that i can compare and get some ideas. alam ko pong bawal sa atin yung dakilang amen, we remember, papuri sa diyos (TNB) etc. pero kakantahin pa din po namin since gusto naman ng parish priest namin and after asking the parishoners about our songs ok naman sila at gusto nga daw nila kasi meron naman kaming LYRIC SHEETS, except for gabii kasi puro "dooo" lang yun at kakantahin naman yun after the first communion song. now, please comment on the other songs like salmo which is suggested by the (diocese) misal. regarding bayan magsiawit at i will sing forever, matagal na naming kinakanta dito yun kaya alam na ng tao.
again, please post naman your lineup for this coming sunday kung prepared na para makakuha kami ng idea habang maaga.
ciao. ;)

hi hashpipe, just PM your fax number and am going to fax them to you. kung gusto mo choirds lang, pwede din. :)

Hello everyone :blushing:
Just in case you don't have the missalette yet for this coming Sunday, especially para sa ating lahat na kailangang pumili ng kanta in advance for our Tagalog or English Mass.
You can access them here (http://www.wordandlife.faithweb.com/downloads.html)
Next time I will try to upload them in advance dahil medyo late na 'ata ito for this Sunday. Anyway,I decided to post them on this thread para we can also see 'yung mga posted selected songs. ;)

Koenji,
okay ito ah. Paano mo ginawa yun? ini-scan mo ba then ginawa mong PDF? o nagsubscribe ka sa Salesiana or Word and Life ng Electronic file?
This will definitely help.

Salamat talaga, malaking tulong yun. Sana regular update nila yun before end ng month, meron na kasunod.
Grabe, super laking tulong nito Koenji!

Thanks Alexander. :)
I'll try to upload them as early as possible in the future though sometime medyo matagal din silang mag-update. Let's hope for the best na lang.

Alexander
03.08.05, 11:47 PM
Kadalasan yun sa 1st page, pero I would suggest you read the 1st and 2nd reading pati Psalm, bago mo basahin ang GOSPEL, usually, it takes prayer first to discern the message, pray to the Holy Spirit for guidance and wisdom, para hindi yung gusto mo ang lalabas, kundi kung ano ang kalooban ng AMA.
yehey! updated na...thanks again...i agree with kuy alexander...nasa first page usually ang theme but it's best kung babasahin mo yung first reading, responsorial psalm and 2nd reading then the gospel....
ingats lagi and Godbless..

[hr]28th Sunday in Ordinary Time (Oct. 10, 2004)
--------------------------------------------------
Gospel
Luke 17:11-19
11 On the way to Jerusalem he was passing along between Sama'ria and
Galilee.
12 And as he entered a village, he was met by ten lepers, who stood at
a
distance
13 and lifted up their voices and said, "Jesus, Master, have mercy on
us."
14 When he saw them he said to them, "Go and show yourselves to the
priests." And as they went they were cleansed.
15 Then one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back,
praising God with a loud voice;
16 and he fell on his face at Jesus' feet, giving him thanks. Now he
was
a Samaritan.
17 Then said Jesus, "Were not ten cleansed? Where are the nine?
18 Was no one found to return and give praise to God except this
foreigner?"
19 And he said to him, "Rise and go your way; your faith has made you
well."

Sir Raphael ,
'BALUKS" po is short for of "Balulaki", sometimes "LUKSBA" is also used as pseudonym of Rev. Fr. Arcadio Muñoz (Now based in the US). He is a priest from San Carlos City, Pangasinan.
He composed many church songs in pangasinan dialect, but also arranged other songs in english. I know you will agree with me if I say that his works are all "classical" ang dating. I mean kahit more than 20 years had passed ang ganda paring kantahin at pakinggan ang kanyang mga compositions (ex. Santo (Sankatageyan), Kordero na Dios, Paakseb moy Espiritum, Marakep a Mundo, etc.)
TRIVIA: Yun pong kinakanta nating "Ama Mi" (in pangasinan dialect) siya po nag-arrange nun.
keep smilin'...keep shinin'....
God Bless us all!.
Welcome to the board, CLAVINOVA!
Thanks for the additional info.
Hope to know you more...

Hi clavinova!
Happy posting!

Hi Kuya Alex and Hashpipe!
For me, it is more convenient to see them in their specific threads. It's like at any point of time you wanna check the reference line ups of particular season, you can easily get back to them with a click. Of course you can also do it when you merged all of the threads like a "PREMIERE" thread, but it looks more organized like a "filing cabinet" when they have their own threads.
Though if the reason is because it would take so much space, then it would just be fine, i guess. Let the right thing be done for the good of everyone.
Just my 2 cents. :)
Alexander
05.03.11, 03:29 PM
Ya, agree ako... I fully understand that this thread is for SUNDAYS only and the other threads are Season Specific... ok ba yun hashpipe :)
hashpipe
05.03.12, 03:36 AM
Well, for me lang kase, nakakalito na sa dami. The Lenten Season thread (or any SPECIAL SEASON thread for that matter), as I can see, eh pwedeng discussion of what and what not to sing on the season, hingian ng scores, not necessarily na may lineup.
But yes, it might be more organized kung sa specific threads. However, I can see the need of having a ONE-STOP thread which is concentrated on UPCOMING (IMMEDIATE) LINEUPS only. And since this is the thread that is close to that, (and is quite active than the other special season threads, thus, being more accessible to posters), I am proposing that we transform this thread into that (and prolly put a sticky on it for better access). The season threads will still live and you can still post your lineups there as well if you want.
Just a suggestion.
http://www.wordandlife.faithweb.com/downloads.html
ehem... share din ako ng concern, well, obviously, sunday ginaganap ang mass services, mapa-lenten season, ordinary time or ano pa man.
does this mean na pag magpost ng bagong thread like let's say easter, e di na pwede dito? or let's say gawa ka bagong thread, so di nalampasan na ito kung magpopost ka naman dito e parang repetitive dahil nga me bagong thread na naman...
one more thing, di naman "kadalasan" ang pagpost ng messages dito. line ups ang pinag-uusapan and basing from the "history", well, i can see most posts e month long ang line-up na binibigay...
kung being specific and organized ang pagkakaroon ng other threads, i doubt it... sa mga nagsusulputang threads, how can that be? not unless you make the threads for line-ups stick to the top.
Hello everyone!
Suggested line up for this Sunday and for next week: Just wanna share with you guys. thanks!

I hope this thread continue to make suggested lineup for the mass every Sunday. At least it would give choirs ideas what to sing for their services in their parishes. I do observe that during ordinary time, the only songs that might be changing would be those from the communion songs because they are usually based on the gospel reading on that Sunday. Kaya siguro puwede nang i-advance na ang list ng communion songs for every Sunday until just before the Sunday we celebrate Christ the King. At least it would give choirs the necessary time to practice the songs and maybe to give time also for choirs to teach the songs to the congragation.:)

I can send you the melody, chords and lyrics of some english hymns. Is it still consider a musical score when all it has is the melody line?
I noticed that there are threads where you can send chords and lyrics, while the musical scores are located with the egroups. What I am refering to is what we will call here as a guitar song book or a 'fake book' song. Is there aplace to post these?

hi bro ed noel. medyo off topic pero reply lang ako, i believe fake books would fall under the "Other Media" category as per our guideline. kaya lang since ang pinopost lang dun e requests, sa yahoogroups sinisend or ina-upload yung files. pero since i believe hindi ka pa member ng egroups, kung ok lang sa yo, paki-email na lang: pakisend(at)yahoo(dot)com. but i could still wait until you get invited sa egroups if you prefer it that way. thanks for sharing and God bless :)

Be with me O Lord when I am in trouble.
(Musical score for these Psalms have been uploaded to the egroups)

Gospel (Luke 4:1-13)
(sypnosis) Jesus was led by the Holy Spirit into the desert for 40 days. There He ate nothing but was tempted by the devil.
Afterwards, the devil left him to await another oppurtunity.
Offertory Hymn - Lord Who Throughout These 40 Days - by St Flavian
Check out the lyrics and midi at
http://www.cyberhymnal.org/htm/l/w/lwtt40da.htm
(This hymn is very apropriate for the Gospel reading and is very easy to learn. It can also be sung again anytime during the Lenten season.)
I have mentioned in another post that the following hymns can be sung at Entrance and Exit:
Forty Days and Forty Nights - Heinlein
In These Days of Lenten Journey - Rick Manalo
The Glory of These 40 Days - Erhalt Uns, Herr
Some liturgist recommends that you repeat Entrance and Exit hymns more often to familiarize the congregation and they can join in the singing much quicker.

alam ko wala din word na "Papuri" or "Glory to God "till Easter Mass.
At any rate, ask ko if any in our Music Ministry know these suggested songs. Kung wala may pyesa sa amin, wala ako choice but to request later on.
Thanks for your suggestions, guys, keep them coming.
cge, God Bless us all

Hmmm... during the workshop sponsored by bukas palad last year, I think they said that tinapay ng buhay is not an offertory song but a communion song. Can anyone confirm this please.

musiktenor, first of all, welcome to the forum. can you introduce yourself in the "Meet Market" thread, para makilala ka nang mga members dito?
just curious, saan mo nakuha ang list na additional recommended hymns for Sun, Mar 25? I use 'Today's Liturgy' guide from OCP and they list all the songs that you have recommended as well. I only included two hymns dahil baka masyado nang mahaba ang post ko. I don't really recommend Recessional hymns, dahil tapos na ang Mass at wala ng specific rule on which song to sing. Although the guide I use still have recommended hymns and we still follow the recommendations. I should start listing entrance and Exit hymns in the future, lalo na after Easter.
We use SILENCE for the recessional only on Palm Sunday. We start Palm Sunday with a very joyous entrance hymn, to welcome Jesus entrance to Jerusalem with Hossanas.
the mood change to somber after the Gospel when the Passion of Christ is read. And at the exit, we observe silence to commemorate the start of the 'Holy week'.
Alex, I am not familiar with the Gather songbook (remember, bago lang ako sa choir compare to a lot of members here). We use Music Issue songbook which has 700 hymns and Psalms. We can only sing from these selections for the weekly masses.I get the melody from the songbook and the chords from our Liturgy Director. hindi naman ako mabilis magbasa notes sa left hand, so I just used chords.
'You Are Mine' is one of my all-time favorites even before I had join the choir. Actually, tama ka, dahil sa guide na ginagamit ko, 'You Are Mine is recommended for both the 4th Sunday and 5th Sunday of Lent. So when you heard it in Australia, they were also singing the same hymn here in the States on that same Sunday.

gud Knight and ejsegovia29,
I noticed in your hymn schedule for Easter Sunday, you both did not have a Sequence chant. Is this normal in the Philippines? In our church, it is REQUIRED singing for the Sequence chant 'Victimae Paschali laudes'. The Sequence is a part of the mass for Easter, Pentecost, Corpus Christi and All Souls Day.
From http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sequence_%28poetry%29
In the Missal of Pius V (1570) the number of sequences for the entire Roman Rite was reduced to four: Victimae paschali laudes (11th century) for Easter, Veni Sancte Spiritus for Pentecost (12th century), Lauda Sion Salvatorem (c.1264) for Corpus Christi, and Dies Irae (13th century) for All Souls and in Masses for the Dead. In 1727, the 13th century Stabat Mater for Our Lady of Sorrows was added to this list.[3] In 1970 the Dies Irae was removed from the Requiem Mass of the revised, new Roman Missal and was transferred to the Liturgy of the Hours to be sung ad libitum in the week before the beginning of Advent.[4]
Victimae Pachali Laudes is one of the few Sequences that is still in liturgical use today. Its text was set to different music by many Renaissance and Baroque composers, including Busnois, ......
We sing the 'Victimae Paschali laudes' in an English version. Our Mass missals that are distributed to the congregation shows that this part of the Mass (Sequence) should be sung before the Alleluia.
I am just wondering if this is not a common practice in the Philippines,

The sad reality of it is that many people have suddenly come to turning points in their lives which have forced them to downgrade their commitment to the group. Busier working hours, greater academic requirements, changing life priorities, are difficult things to argue with. E ikaw sobra active ka w/c is good.:)
kasi serving has become a habit...di na kelangan i-remind pa to attend practice or the 630am mass..hinahanap-hanap ko na..sana ganun din un ibang members natin :) i guess you're right, many of our members have changed their priorities in life...kaya siguro minsan nagtatanong na si kuya archie kung hanggang kailan tatagal ang grupo (andun ka ba that time? he has been repeating this line lately). sabi niya, once may ipapalit na tayo na mga anak, pwede na daw tayo magretire..tama ba uy? pano na lang tayong mga single???!!! pressure eto! hehehe...medyo..lumilihis na tayo sa topic..to the moderators, sorry po!!

and i'll be praying for your group too! :) aja!!!

Buti di mahigpit sa inyo sa Memorial Acclamation.... the GIRM is very specific in the (con)text of the Memorial Acclamation from the ROMAN MISSAL

sabi samin, as long as its easter season, okay lng kantahin ang we remember. pag ordinary time, balik na ulit kami sa "si kristo ay gunitain"

maybe wala kasing existing liturgical music committee sa church namin kaya hindi masyado pinakikialaman ang songs sa mass...as long as the song is liturgically-approved and seasonally-appropriate, okie lang kantahin... and as long as we can lead the congregation in the singing, walang problema.
We Remember din ang acclamation namin. First time namin narinig ito from BP nuong nagpunta sila rito at ito ang kinanta nila sa Misa during the workshop. But before we use it nagpaalam muna kami sa parish priest at pumayag naman s'ya, Pero kung sa akin lang, I will use one from the Roman Missal para liturgical.

Tama ka, Bonnie. I am listing the suggested hymns from the guide created by OCP. The guide is a separate book intended for those making the decisions on which hymns to sing. OCP is Catholic publisher of hymns and these suggested hymns are sung mostly in the Western States of US. You can go to most churches and you will most likely hear the same suggested hymns on a Sunday.

nice line up Jeval...
you completed the entire month... expecting to post the same before the month he he he
one month advance kasi kami gumawa ng line up e, pero sa tingin ko mas maganda kung 2 months advance para makapag pasok ng mga bagong songs at mapag aralan. kaso time minsan ang problem saka medyo mahirap na pag reflection na ng gospel then maghahanap ng akmang songs for that hehehe

Ang galing naman, one month in advance. Kami usually a week in advance lang. :)
For Sunday, 16 Sept:
E - Bayan Umawit
O - Huling Hapunan
C - Shepherd Of My Soul
R - I Will Sing Forever
Eto lang yong mga pinapalitan namin every week, trying as much as possible na about sa Gospel ang Communion song namin. Ginagamit din namin ngayon yong Santo, Acclamation at Amen from TNB.
