Organizing A Song Database, Posted 11.04.05 #1
Hi guys,

I've been meaning to create a database of all the songs I have acquired for the past years for purposes of easy indexing.

Whenever I build song line ups for the mass, I usually have a hard time creating a lineup without reference. We tend to sing songs over and over again.

If created well, I guess this will help us enrich our participation in the liturgy. I'd know what my choir can sing, or what songs I should teach them still. Also, this could be a valuable tool to identify which specific songs are opt for certain occasions/seasons.

I'm planning to use Microsoft Excel for the database. Do you have any ideas you could share on how I could organize that? Or perhaps you may have a better software in mind?

At the rate our people are bombarded with all sorts of Western pop and commercial music through radio, television, jukeboxes, record players, and movies the day may not be too far away when we shall have committed our own native music to the grave; harshly forgotten, abandoned, its beauty laid to waste by an unknowing generation whose only fault is not having been given the chance to cultivate a love of it

Microsoft Office Access 2007 features a number of improvements that make the process of creating a new database easier. Even if you have created databases before, it is likely that you will appreciate these features for their ability to speed up the creation process.

This article covers the basic process of starting Office Access 2007 and creating a database, either by using a template or by creating your own tables, forms, reports, and other database objects. It also details a few techniques that you can use to get information into your new database.

Hehe.

Iniisip ko icategorize pa by theme.

Hmm, maganda nga sigurong may soft copy.

Mahirap siguro maging librarian.

Heto ang isang SQL database design. Pag-isipan. Baka makakuha ng mga ideya.
