Hello Tweety......

Quote:
All active members of our choir here in Dubai, UAE pay a membership fee of 20Dhs or Php200. Plus, the church recommends our group sa mga gustong magpakasal at good naman lagi ang response, we charge Dhs300 or Php3,000. We are also asked to sing sa confirmation ceremony ng mga private schools.

What about singing sa mga hotel lobby during xmas season? gandang raket yon.

i was an active parishioner and choir member/instrumentalist in a parish in qc for a long time. madalas na fundraiser namin, na generally successful ay ang rummage sale, newspaper drive, etc. actually, pawis talaga ang puhunan don kasi talagang door to door ang kolekta ng materials, tapos we spend like a weekend to tag (price) things then 2-3 weekends to do the rummage sale itself. we go to the parish halls of our subparishes to conduct ther rummage sale. no cash out yon except for tags, gas money, (van rental kung kailangan for pick-ip) na pwede ring donation naman from other parishioners. we usually did this during the summer para yung mga bata-bata naming choir members ang masugid naming kolektor--walang classes. plus usually households do their summer cleaning then. we also ask the help of the Ladies Church group at senior organizations in the parish dahil sila naman ang mga bahay na kokolektahan namin ng materials for the rummage sale. usually, bonding activity din ito dahil magkakasama kayo. natutuwa din yung mga senior organizations sa amin dahil they see that we "work hard" to get our funds, and not just ask for "sponsorships" from them. mas madali pati humingi ng "old things" rather than money during these hard economic times.
