this kind of album is not impossible. in fact dati pa may nagsuggest nito.

bp has a number of albums coming up in the next few years. iba iba ang theme at usage per album.

suffice to say that we shall include this responsorial psalm album in our list of choices.

that's good. pero pwede po siguro damihan ang resp. psalm sa album.

mahirap po kasi suggestion ni Fr. Mano na gumawa ng melody sa psalm especially kung hindi naman professional yung pianist namin. and since according to Fr. Mano, dapat kantahin ang salmo just like the aleluya, dapat talaga madaming choices ng songs na pang salmo. especially for young choirs. di naman po pwedeng paulit-ulit lang salmo di ba?

hi! i was actually thinking of suggesting the same thing. nakakautuwa namang malamang people find this a real need in Filipino liturgy.

psalms are very "useful" in liturgy not just during the responsorial psalm but also as songs of gathering or dismissal (e.g. "Sing A New Song") or as a communion hymn (e.g. "Taste and See"). the JMM talents have made quite a number of responsorial psalms that are simple and congregation-friendly. bro. arnel aquino, sj is a prolific composer of psalm-songs. I'm sure you've seen "How Lovely Is Your Dwelling Place." ang dami-daming pwedeng gamitin!

i agree, he's one of our favorite composers, kaya lang may mga strict na parishes and gusto nila, kung ano yung nasa misal dapat akma yung song. paghindi naman ukma yung song dun sa actual na nasa misal, parang hindi bagay.

imagine an album kung saan puro pang resp. psalm, tapos may songbook pa, tapos naka-lagay kung anong date or occasion mo pwedeng kantahin. ang saya nun.

minsan nga di ko na talaga alam kung ano pwedeng pang resp. psalm. but according to Fr. Mano, dapat daw galing talaga sa OT psalm.

btw, taste and see ba pwedeng salmo? parang nabasa ko sa album na pwede.

Yes, "Taste and See" was taken from PSALM 34. May version pa nga na ginagamit ang "Couples for Christ" na same title pero "Joyful Song" yun.

pero ito lang ang hinanakit ko sa misa sa Pilipinas.


dahil every hour on the hour ang karamihan ng misa....
maraming pari ang ayaw pakantahin ang salmo dahil kulang sa oras at nauubusan sila ng panahon para magbigay ng kilo-kilometrong homily.
