Liturgical color: White

I. SERVICE OF LIGHT

Filipino:

Kristong liwanag

English/Latin:

1. Lumen Christi and Thanks be to God
2. Exsultet
3. One Little Candle

II. LITURGY OF THE WORD

R1: Genesis 1:1, 26-31 (or Gen 1:1-2:2) God creates man and gives him dominion over all other creatures.

RP1: 104 (English) “Lord, send out Your Spirit, and renew the face of the earth” or 33 (English) “The earth is full of the goodness of the Lord”
103 (Filipino) “Espiritu Mo’y suguin, Poon; tana’y Yong baguhin.”

R2: Genesis 22:1-18 God asks Abraham that the latter offer Him his beloved son Isaac. Abraham obeys, but just when he is about to sacrifice/kill Isaac, the angel of the Lord stops him. God thus promises Abraham many blessings because he did not deny Him his beloved.

RP2: (English) 16 “You are my inheritance, O Lord.”

R3: Exodus 14:15 – 15:1 This is about crossing the Red Sea. God parted the Red Sea so that Moses and the recently fleeing Israelites may cross, and then closed the sea so that the pursuing Egyptian soldiers may drown.

RP 3: (English) Exodus 15 “Let us sing to the Lord; He has covered Himself in glory.”

R4: Isaiah 54:5-14 The double metaphors: Groom is to Bride, as God is to Jerusalem, as Jesus is to His Bride, the Church.

RP 4: (English) 30 “I will praise You, Lord, for You have rescued me.”

Please note that not all readings are required to be read. Tatlo lang pwede na. Exodus above, though, must be read.

Cguro for academic purposes na lang...

R5: Isaiah 55:1-11

RP 5: Isaiah 12 (English) You will draw water joyfully from the springs of salvation.”

R6: Bar 3:9-15, 32 – 4:4

RP 7: 42 (English) “Like a deer that longs for running streams, my soul longs for You, my God.”

Luwalhati/Papuri/Glory to God/Gloria: Sing your grandest version. Multiple voices, if you guys can do it. For added drama, turn on all the lights of the church just before this precise moment. Practice ahead with the sacristans on the proper ringing of the bells.

The Gloria is followed by the Epistle.

Epistle/Liham: Romans 6:3-11 We died with Him, and we arise with Him. Our sinful past is now gone because of Him. Through unity with Christ, salvation is now possible.

ENROROLVE: Off topic po ata tayo sir? Mukhang hindi rin ito first time...

Anyway, I don't suggest changing the lyrics of "Kapuri-puri Ka" since it is a prayer found in the Sacramentary for the offertory rite, and, as the priest does not change the words when he prays it silently, then we should not also change the words when it is sung. Granted, the version by Fr. Que is a paraphrase, but at least the thought does not change, even if this is the Easter season.

It's just a personal opinion, though. No disrespect meant.

so kuya vic,

One should rather die than be betrayed. There is no deceit in death. It delivers precisely what it has promised. Betrayal, though ... betrayal is the willful slaughter of hope. -Steven Deitz
