St. Ignatius of Loyola begins his Spiritual Exercises with The First Principle & Foundation.
He writes:
The goal of our life is to live with God forever.
God who loves us, gave us life.
Our own response of love allows God's life to flow into us
without limit.
All the things in this world are gifts of God,
presented to us so that we can know God more easily
and make a return of love more readily.
As a result, we appreciate and use all these gifts of God
insofar as they help us develop as loving persons.

II. Opening Prayer
Dear Lord, we ask you to fill us with the inspiration to be more aware of Your presence in our lives. We ask you to grant us peace of mind so that we can constantly be instruments of Your justice. We ask you to imbue us with your truth so that we can truly be vessels of your love.
Grant us the grace to feel Your love in our neighbors and to be inspired to speak only of Your truth. Give us the courage to hope despite the many difficulties we experience, and we pray that we may always be strengthened in our faith in You as we do our share in the creation of a better world.

Christ transforms the whole world through his Body & Blood
II. OPENING PRAYER
(Adapted from The Liturgy of the Hours)
Lord Jesus Christ, You gave us the Eucharist to celebrate and make present in our world today Your suffering, dying, and rising. May every celebration of Your sacrifice help us to experience the salvation You have won for us. By partaking of the bread and wine transformed into Your Body and Blood, may our lives become like Yours – lived in fullness in self-giving love. Send us Your Spirit and transform our hearts, our minds, our wills – our whole selves. Use us that we may draw all people and all creation into Your kingdom where you live with the Father and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever.
