This chant expresses the sublime doctrine of theosis; that is, of the divine's humanization in order to divinize the human. The immortal has become mortal, so that the mortal may become immortal. The eternal has become historical, so that the historical may be made eternal.

During the Season of Advent, this prayer helps us to prepare ourselves for the coming of the Lord. As we sing and pray this chant, we express our yearning to be guided to our one true home, through our relationship with Jesus, who has chosen to be with us...to be our companion, our teacher, our brother.

This chant was written to serve as an entrance hymn for Advent liturgies, but may fit many parts of the Mass, including the Preparation of the Gifts, for Communion, and the recessional, as well as for prayer gatherings, and other celebrations, especially during Advent.
